25thAnniversary Celebration

There is understandably a great temptation to look back, to remember, to share warm and fond memories and to reflect on the events that have brought here. And as we do, I hope we do not unduly focus on one man, one political party or even one country.  Instead our focus should be on the enduring fundamental principles of life that ennoble mankind.”  - Ronald Reagan

25^th Anniversary Celebration Program

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.      

Keynote remarks by:

• The Honorable David Ferriero (Archivist of the United States)
• The Honorable Edwin Meese III (75^th Attorney General of the United States)
• The Honorable Pete Wilson (36^th Governor of California)
• The Honorable George Shultz (60^th United States Secretary of State)

Statue Unveiling:

• The program will include the unveiling of a new Ronald Reagan statue in our Terry Lanni Rose Garden.  The heroic size statue is a duplicate of the statue of Ronald Reagan located in California’s State Capitol.  The Statue represents the only California Governor to ever become President of the United States and we are proud that its sister statue will find a permanent home at the Reagan Library.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Live patriotic concert by the Los Angeles Police Department Band

雷根總統圖書館

簡介

雷根總統圖書館為一座總統圖書館和並且也是第40屆美國總統-雷根最後的安息之處。圖書館位於加州西米谷，離洛杉磯市中心西北邊大約40英里（64公里)。 圖書館可由118高速公路連接23號高速公路後由奧爾森路(Olsen Road)出口下高速公路後到達。

雷根總統圖書館是美國十二個總統圖書館內最大的，佔地約153000平方英尺。而其地址，40號總統路，乃是為了編號紀念雷根為美國的第40任總統。

博物館
博物館內有跟雷根總統生平相關的特展以及永久展覽。展覽從雷根總統在伊利諾州迪克森的童年開始於裡根的童年在迪克森，電影事業，從軍，與南西雷根的婚姻一直到從政。 “人民州長”展覽區展示雷根總統於1964年的著名眼說選擇的時刻，以及他8年加州州長的生涯。 這個展區還包括雷根總統於1965年第一個加州州長競選活動時所用的福特野馬車，以及他作加州州長時所用的辦公桌。 另外還有雷根總統的1980年以及1984年的總統競選活動，以及他的總統就職時所穿著的西裝和一個白宮內作戰室的桌子。 館內還有1981年時被企圖暗殺的新聞片段，以及有關反彈道飛彈防禦系統之戰略防禦計劃（SDI - 被稱為星球大戰）相關資料。

博物館內當然還有每個總統圖書館皆有的美國總統正式辦公室 - 又稱為圓形辦公室的完整翻版。其他展示主要集中於雷根牧場，戴維營總統度假區，白宮的生活，以及與第一夫人南希雷根的生活。

圖書館外草坪模擬白宮草坪並且也有每個總統圖書館皆有的柏林圍牆磚塊，以及一架F-14雄貓戰鬥機。

空軍一號館
空軍一號館為一個90000平方英尺（8,400平方米）的展覽館展示當時作為空軍一號的波音707飛機展示場所。飛機的名字為SAM27000也被其他六個總統於1973至2001年使用，包括尼克森在他第二個任期內，福特，卡特，老布希，柯林頓和喬治布希總統。

SAM27000為展示有關總統旅行的一部分。另外還有詹森總統時代使用的總統直昇機，總統車隊 — 包括雷根總統1984年時的總統轎車，1982年的洛杉磯警察局警車以及，兩個80年代的警察摩托車。 館內還包括雷根總統夫婦於1984年6月到愛爾蘭共和國參觀的奧法雷爾酒吧(O'Farrell's pub, 目前稱為雷根酒吧)。 同時展出的還有冷戰時期和雷根總統搭乘空軍一號旅行的相關展覽品
